Each year I make new years resolution and they are always the same! Lose 25kg, stop biting my nails and try a little harder with the housework. By the 2nd Of January I'm eating chips, ice-cream and milo with a side of finger nails while watching the dirty washing take over my wet floored, powder and make-up covered bathroom! By the 3rd Of January I've given up!

Well this year I've taken a different approach to what I want to achieve and that approach was giving them a new name! They are no longer resolutions that get tossed to the side but goals that make me feel good about myself when I complete them! don't know why it works for me, maybe it has to do with the expectation of resolutions to fail, but they work and the only one that hasn't really kicked off properly is that pesky weight loss! That's what got me thinking about my goals again really. In my lazy, sleep hazed glory tonight, I thought having 2... not 1 but 2 bowls of ice-cream and milo was a wonderful idea! I'm now feeling physically ill and dirty with myself for not just ignoring my goal of weight loss but throwing it to the wind and flipping it the bird!
Well I need to be held accountable for my actions and because of that pesky thing called pride I need to let others know my goal so I can now prove to them that I can in fact do them and do them well! So here is my list of goal for myself and my family this year-
- Weight loss-
Surprise, surprise! This seems to be on most of our lists of wants and of course it's on the top of my list as well! But instead of my ridiculous lose that 25KG you gained since you were 18, it's a simple 6kg by the 1st of January 2012! That's only 0.5kg a month!!! But would believe it, I've gained 2kg instead!!! So now that it on here for everyone and anyone to see and I guess judge me on my accomplishments I may actually lose that 6kg (now 8kg) by my end date. - Read 40 books! I've so far read 5! I think I need to lift my game with that one!
- Since I'm studying and things never started off well with my studies and I'm about 8 months before I need to finish 1.5 modules a month from April to January!
- Save up to $2000!
- Pay my mother back for all the help she gave me in the last few months with the floods, losing everything I own, moving and giving me a new car after min up and died on me just when I thought things couldn't get any worse! So I want to pay her at the very least $2000 this year on our low wages and hopefully more next year!
- Become eco friendly!
- Prepare Lucian for Pre-prep! This is pretty much done! It was a little easier then I thought! We still need to work on the order of numbers and get our ABC's but everything else is done!
- Lastly it's that housework again! but this time I've found it easier! I don't know why it's easier now (perhaps it's from not having much left to call my own) but the house work hasn't gotten ahead of me once yet! That is something I am extremely proud off since I normally let it get to a point that Lucian will get lost amongst the washing before I do something about it!
That's all of them for now! More may be added or I may save them for next year!! Either way So far I'm pleased with my progress! Here's hoping that I'll now stick with that weight loss part and prove to the world that I can do ALL my goals not just the simple ones!
